Service — four of four

Grading

Grading combines third-party authentication, condition assessment, and encapsulation. We help you compare graders, prepare the cards, and manage the submission process.

2024 Panini Prizm Jayden Daniels #347 in a PSA 10 holder.

2024 Panini Prizm Jayden Daniels #347

PSA 10 graded rookie card.

How it works

From initial review through return, each stage is confirmed before the submission moves forward.

Which grader

Four companies handle most submissions. They are not interchangeable, and the choice affects what the card is worth afterwards.

PSA

One overall number from 1 to 10, in the holder the most buyers recognise on sight.
Widest market

BGS

Four subgrades — corners, edges, centring, surface — underneath the overall. You see exactly where it lost.
Modern, and near-perfect

SGC

A straightforward 1 to 10 in the black-matted holder that vintage collectors tend to prefer.
Vintage

CGC

Came over from comics and now grades cards and trading-card games alongside them.
Modern and TCG

The right grader depends on the card, the collecting audience, the desired turnaround, and the total submission cost. Contact us to compare those factors for a specific card.

Submission costs

Pricing note

Pricing includes the grading company's fee and any handling, insurance, and return-shipping costs that apply to the submission.

We will confirm the full estimate before submission. Grading does not guarantee that a card will increase in value.

Common questions

How long does a submission take?

Turnaround depends on the grader and service level. Published estimates can change and are not guaranteed.

What if the grade is lower than expected?

The grade remains the independent grader’s assessment. We can review what the result means for your collecting goals, without promising a value.

What protection options are available in transit?

Packing, declared value, shipping, and available coverage are reviewed before the submission leaves.

Can you submit a card bought somewhere else?

Yes. Where the card was purchased does not determine submission eligibility; its condition and the grader’s requirements do.

Is the card worth grading?

That depends on condition, grading cost, and why you want it encapsulated. A submission never guarantees a higher value.

Can I sell the card after it returns?

A direct sale or consignment can be discussed separately once the grade and current item details are known.
